This is the vessel which receives the boiled wort from the copper. The whole brew is dropped into the hopback and circulated for fifteen minutes. This circulation pulls the hop material down onto the slotted plates which make up the false floor, and the bed of hops acts as a natural filter for the wort which is t hen pumped to the top of the brewery and into the coolship.
